August is flying by, keeping us on our toes. Emerging from a sea of enormous deadlines, we are happy to see some very exciting projects shape up, and more on that as it happens! Next week Anab is off to SICS, Stockholm, we are also prepping up for an exhibit at NESTA and a cities workshop in Singapore with the Young Foundation. And planning a PICNIC. Also please do vote for our panel at SXSW 2011. (Image credit: NASA, Earth, desert from Space)

News from the Flux
July kicks off with a trip to Marseilles, where Anab is a keynote speaker at LIFT France 10. Later this month, we are working with Microsoft Research, Cambridge on strategic communication, prototyping a 'toy' and looking forward to working with a new client! Through the Lab, we are developing a project on Optogenetics and showing the 5th Dimensional Camera at Lovebox Music Festival and the Secret Garden Party. That'll keep us busy. Happy Summer!
This month, Superflux Lab will be showing the 5th Dimensional Camera at the Cheltenham Science Festival as part of the IMPACT! Gallery. Looking forward to talks from Robert Winston, Paul Davies and Brian Cox. And through our Consultancy, we will be developing service propositions with Live|Work, running a workshop with MA Design+Environment students at Goldsmiths College, writing secret proposals, and, yes, enjoying the lovely weather!
Volcanic ash permitting, this is a month of travel. While Anab will be talking at the fabulous FutureEverything, Jon is off to Paris for a client project. And then in Amsterdam Anab will be talking about 'elastic cities' at the World Congress for Information Technology alongwith Adam Greenfield, Tom Loosemore and Tom Steinberg. If you are in either of the these places, do come say hi!
April is keeping us busy, here are some top stories: We are working on a short project about designing microclimates for Volume + C-lab, presenting the 5th Dimensional Camera at the EPSRC's 'HOW?' event and developing an exciting futures' strategy for a client. (And finally the contrails are back! But we hope the volcanic ash implications are not forgotten.)
Also, Alex Taylor, Laurel Swan and Anab's essay 'New Companions' is published in the recently released book 'Close Engagements with Artificial Companions'.
And finally...This week we are exhibiting the 5th Dimensional Camera (a culmination of our quantum computing project) at the IMPACT! exhibition, Royal College of Art. The project was a joint collaboration between NESTA, EPSRC and RCA. If you are in London, do come by.
We have also been busy with client work, writing a journal paper and attending the fantastic Plantery Breakdown Sandpit in Newcastle. Also Anab was mentioned in the Marie Claire (Italian version) magazine, featured as one of the 20 women world changers.
So far, February has been a month of possibilities. Project Indra, which is the code name for one of our pet new projects has finally kicked off! More on that as soon as we can. The Quantum project is in last stages of production and we will exhibiting the work next month at the IMPACT! exhibition. Apart from chasing deadlines, we are looking forward to welcoming couple of new clients on board. And Dan Griffiths wrote a lovely piece on our work in his blog.
Few days into 2010, we sense hope... Perhaps we are just happy to be alive and kicking six months after we founded Superflux. On work front, while the IMPACT! EPSRC project continues, we have been developing new project ideas and spending time documenting stories and contradictions around India's local services.
We are also pleased to be profiled in the Feb issue of Wired UK.
We are pleased to be featured in an exciting new book titled 'Business Model Generation' by Alex Osterwalder et al. In other news, we have been spreading our wings, spending some time in Mumbai, Bangalore and Ahmedabad meeting new collaborators, running workshops and giving talks.
Lastly, and most importantly, we would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a promising start to 2010!
We are working on an very exciting project around Quantum Computing in collaboration with scientists at Oxford and Bristol. Sponsors: EPSRC and the RCA.
Anab will be giving a Public Lecture titled 'Design Without Disciplines' at the Liverpool John Moores University on Wednesday, 25th Nov. If you are around, do drop by!
We just finished the first phase of a project for Southern Water in collaboration with STBY. We are also developing Vision Work for a Music Experience Centre in Bangalore. And Anab just returned from a fantastic TEDIndia. For detailed updates visit our blog.
