An update on projects and happenings in the studio.

It’s been a while since you last heard from us here, and as a testament to our long silence, we’ve got quite a few exciting updates.

The other day we launched The Quiet Enchanting, a mythical frieze that wraps around the facade of Bush House on the newly pedestrianised Strand.

The Action Speaks Summit opened at the New York Climate Week earlier this week. If you are in New York or visiting for the Climate Week, come by, we are open only till 24th September.

Back in November 2022, Anab gave a keynote at Design Council’s Design for Planet Festival where she first presented the idea of ‘Ancillary Design’. What was then an sketch for a new type of design, prompted by our ongoing studio practice, and a recent Design Investigations field trip to an iron ore pit, has since been developed into an essay.

We spoke with Design Week about how our experiential, speculative design practice has evolved, and how it helps us to examine our relationship with the future.

We are very excited to announce the launch of CASCADE INQUIRY: our ambitious initiative of experiential projects that imagine future worlds where positive climate action has been taken.

We’re delighted to share that the Royal Society of Arts recently recognised Anab and Jon with the Royal Designers for Industry’ (RDI) Award for Speculative Design. 

This October we invite you to come and spend time with SAFE; a collection of ten new speculative works by our team and our collaborators, that come together in an immersive showcase of collaborative ambition in the face of uncertainty.
