Instant Archetypes: A toolkit to imagine plural futures

BY: Superflux

Instant Archetypes: A New Tarot for the New Normal is our new futures toolkit to activate creative and critical thinking through live storytelling, problem-solving and insight exploration. Now on Kickstarter!

Instant Archetypes is a toolkit for anyone looking to open up possibilities, surface questions and untangle stubborn challenges. A reimagining of the timeless tropes of the Major Arcana for the 21st Century where the Fool is now the Consumer, the Chariot is a Drone, and the Moon is a Meme.

The cards are our attempt to make tools and futures concepts tangible and accessible for a wide audience and were conceived alongside writer and researcher, Paul Graham Raven. The reimagined archetypes were brilliantly brought to life by illustrator, Amelie Barnathan.

Sidestepping stereotypes of Mama Fortuna beneath a flickering neon Fortune Teller sign, tarot reading with Instant Archetypes activates creative and critical thinking through live storytelling, problem-solving and insight exploration.

This is where you come in. Your help will support the production of the cards!

Each of Instant Archetypes’ 22 cards will be printed on 400gm Munken with an anti-scuff coating, to help you explore plural futures well into a distant future.

We’ve assembled a stellar list of rewards which we hope will inspire you to support this campaign.

Take a gander and grab a set of Instant Archetypes while you can!

We would like to to thank researcher Paul Graham Raven and illustrator Amelie Barnathan – for being incredible collaborators and partners on this project. Instant Archetypes could not have been realised without their commitment and brilliance.
