Design Studio of the Year Award 2021
We’re delighted to announce that Superflux are the recipients of the Dezeen Awards 2021 ‘Design Studio of the year’.
The studio awards categories celebrate all-round excellence over a body of work produced by architecture, interiors and design studios. As an established studio we had to demonstrate 10+ years of practice, including an evolution of depth and scale of our projects, business practices, studio culture, intent, impact and recent works. Our submission included three recent works: Refuge for Resurgence, Invocation For Hope and the Intersection, that reimagine humanity’s relationship with the world across a range of societal, technological and infrastructural scales. In their comments, the judging panel said:
“This studio has forged the way with its social and sustainable projects. It works with both large businesses and smaller studios. It has great social awareness and is committed to change.”
It’s hard to comprehend that we may have somehow produced some of our most ambitious and provocative work in the most difficult, precarious and challenging year, if there was one. Maybe, somewhere in all those years of client and commissioned work advising companies to be generative, adaptive and work with uncertainty, something rubbed off. We would like to thank our team, alumni, colleagues, collaborators, clients and commissioners for their trust, support and constant encouragement.
We would also like to thank Dezeen, the judging panel and the other shortlisted studios; dn&co, Estudi Antoni Arola, Form Us With Love, Lee Broom & Yabu Pushelberg.
